Dominee Gremdaat: kou in Nederland/ Cold in the Netherlands
Friday, December 25th, 2009Christmas & New Year wishes
Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009Memories 2009
The year 2009 began for me on the riverbanks of the Daugava in Latvia. From there I explored the year and now this year is almost over.
Now snow is falling and it’s cold, it almost seems like how this
year started for me and it seems if nothing has changed.
I know this is not true, because I had such beautiful experiences which I cannot describe them all in this little story.
I was in Riga, Brussels, Metz, Verdun, Vienna, Sarajevo, Kraljevo, Skopje, Kičevo, Podgorica, Prague, Lviv, Kiev but I always returned to’s-Hertogenbosch.
In Verdun I saw the result of the First World War which has begun by the assassination of Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo and I saw the place where he was assassinated.
There I also saw the victims of disintegration of Yugoslavia and for this I have no words, but this is history as 2009 is almost history.
When I was among friends or when I made trips through valleys, along rivers or crossing mountains, I saw what was beautiful in life.
Life will continue, also in 2010 and I wish you will see these beautiful things as me and I wish you the best for the New Year in good health.

Visa liberalisation – historic moment for Macedonia &Serbia&Montenegro

Visa free travel for citizens of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia before Christmas
Tuesday, December 1st, 2009Yes the 19th December it will be finally lifted:
the visa regime for citizens of Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro will be lifted.
Citizens of these countries will not need visa anymore
for a visit to the Schengen countries
(they can stay 90 days maximum).
Finally a postive step forwards for these countries and their citizens towards European integration of the Balkan region (and of course for my friends there who finally can visit me easily
) .
The press release of the European Union you can read if you click on the banner below. By the way did they noticed the Orthodox Christmas is later then the 25th December (it is for Orthodox people, a major religion in these countries, the 7th and 8th January 2010 )
An interesting article from B92 (Serbian TV/ News) can be found here.
