The movie below is only in Dutch, sorry, but it is funny: it is a bout the noise the new “high” speed train makes.. Just a note: this train is driving only 160 km p/h at this moment between Amsterdam and Rotterdam and only once an hour….

Skopje. Greece is champion in spending European Union’s money, and even Bulgaria and Romania, which are believed to be the poorest states in the list, could only dream about such financial sources, Macedonian Utrinski Vesnik writes. This is stated in a report of the European Commission, which says that in contrast to Bulgaria, which has taken a little more than EUR 600 million more than it has given to the EU, Greece has taken EUR 6 billion more through different development funds. Greece is followed by Poland in the chart, which is four times bigger and much undeveloped country. Hungary is third in the list.
“Speaking per capita of the population it turns out that every German citizen finances the Greeks and the rest of the net receivers in the EU with EUR 1,000 per year”, Utrinski Vesnik writes.
My comment: I already knew this , but I have to make one remark: the source is Macedonian (and we know, Macedonia is anti-Greek at this moment, which I can understand very well at this moment), but I know from other sources that Greece is indeed one of the biggest netto receivers of EU-tax money. For the rest I do not have a comment about it,it is just a fact which I wanted to present here.
Border
Monday, September 21st, 2009I spent a nice weekend by friends of me in Niel which is just south of Antwerpen (Belgium). It so good to see friends back after a long time, but it seemed like yesterday and that is good is my opinion.
The fact that I had to cross the Dutch-Belgian border is not even important any more: it does not exist any more, it seems to be disappeared. I think it is good and I am happy about it, if I compare with other borders which I have crossed, for example on the Balkans.
Under just a photo which I took from the rear side of the train back home, between Antwerpen (B) and Roosendaal (NL), I marked the border in red, it is near Essen. For real train nerds like me I know the differences between both railway-systems, but I will spare you….

New Balkan site
Saturday, September 12th, 2009These days I am busy with my new Balkan site. I use now TYPO3, which is a free CMS (Content Management System) tool to develop and maintain websites. Especially the maintain part of TYPO3 is easy: I can now make quickly pages , deleting pages and change styles.
Also some new ideas will be implemented, like that people from the Balkan region can add stories about (almost) everything they want.
The site is already online, but note that it is under development: there are still some bugs in it. Feel free to comment, I am looking forward to it.
