Busy, busy , busy and a new camera :-)

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Yes dear viewers I am very busy these days with 1000 things, but it feels good, so yes I did had no time to update my blog. I wanted to write about the statics of this website, but you are probaly not interested and I forgive you that.

Last Saturday I bought my new camera a new Nikon D60 with a 18-105mm lens and the first results are satisfying me a lot.april2009-068 So we will continue with practising, as I do with my poetry, here the newest one:

Vivre

20/04/2009: Tadaaaa: it is spring !

Monday, April 20th, 2009

So, today it is monday and I am a bit tired and my bike is still broken. I had a wonderfull weekend wish more of these things will come. The Keukenhof was great and very beautifull, and of course I wrote a poem, I go to be very short, I am busy these days so here the poem:

They can try, but they do not succeed

The boat sails away to the other side and your love one becomes
along distance smaller and smaller
until the moment that she disappears from your sight.

The waves try to forget her,
the wind tries to disappear
her voice and her appearance

Leaving is dying a bit and
the distance, the waves, the wind
and the night try to let you dying a bit.

Fortunately there is the heart,
because the heart never forgets your love,
even-if distance, waves and wind will try to do so.

08/04/2009: Sur l’autoroute 31

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

05/04/2009: De retour from Metz / Verdun (France)

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

I just returned from Metz and Verdun in France where I spend a nice weekend with my family. First I went to visit Gerald, a client from me, in Luxembourg and that was really nice to see the other side !

With Gerald I went to Metz, the capital of the region Lorraine, where he lives and there we drank a beer together and I got two bottles of French liquor:  “Poire” and “Mirabelle” home made . How I can complaint with such good client ? After I was with my family and we stayed in a hotel, but first we made Metz “unsafe”. On Saturday we had a city tour and there was time for doing shopping. I made some nice pictures of the beautiful things I saw and I have to admit: Metz est belle !!! (=Metz is beautiful).

In the evening we had a dinner in Coin-les-Cuvry, which is near Metz, because there we had a dinner with a French family which my family knows since a long time. In the sixties my grandparents went with their children (my father, uncles etc.) to a SNCF (=French railways) camping in Saint-Raphaël (Côte d’Azur). That ‘s the reason why we had this French/Dutch re-union.

On Sunday I went with my father to the battlefields of the First World War in Verdun. They call Verdun “the Stalingrad of France”, in a couple of months 300.000 soldiers were killed. We went to visit the ossuary of Douamont and that was very impressive to see. After the battlefields of Verdun we went back via Orval in Belgium (yes of that beer) back to the Netherlands.

I can conclude that I passed a very nice / interesting weekend with a lot of fun! Photos you can view here: Metz 3-5th April 2009

In Metz by the way I bought some French poetry:
-from Rimbaud I bought “Poésies complètes”
-from Paul Verlaine (who is from Metz) I bought “Poesies”
-from Jacques Prévert I bought “Fatras”.

and that for 13 euro ‘s !!! My personal favourit is Prévert, so I finish now with one of him, mine will follow later :

Est-ce passe-temps?

Et-ce passe-temps d’écrire
est-ce passe-temps de rêver
cette page
était blanche
il y a quelques secondes
Une minute
ne s’est pas encore écoulée
Maintenant voilà qui est fait
